The Soft Unraveling

This week is for unraveling.
Not the kind that breaks you - the kind that frees you.

The slow loosening of old roles, quiet releases of “shoulds” that no longer fit the shape of your joy.

This is the week of unlearning perfection, of remembering the self you were before performance or protection.

This week invites you to gently release old stories and reconnect with what feels real and joyful today.
You don’t have to force clarity.
You don’t have to name the ending to let something end.

Let it unravel gently.
Let old stories slip through your fingers like threads.
Let softness be the courage.

Because not all growth looks like rising.
Sometimes it looks like falling apart in order to come home to yourself.

My Wildflower Era

The era of …

  • Returning to the parts of me that thrive without permission, flourish without pruning, and bloom without applause

  • Untangling the need to have a reason, a plan, and a baker’s dozen amount of SMART goals for everything.

  • Loosening the knots of over-justification. No more mapping every move, no more proving my worth through productivity.

  • Releasing the pursuit of perfection, rehearsed responses, diplomatic opinions, and filtered faces.

  • Shedding the polished, “easy to digest” persona and experiencing a reclamation of self.

  • Aligning my choices and actions so that I may show up in the world as my most favorite version of myself, no matter how selfish, or messy, or unorthodox it may seem to others.

  • Allowing new things to grow in spaces I was trying to control too tightly

  • Exploring the world outside of my comfort zone with curiosity, mistakes, and missteps.

  • Standing in the sunshine, breathing in the air, listening to the sounds around me, and just being instead of always doing.

  • Inhabiting the present without urgency.

  • Witnessing moments instead of wrangling them.

  • Creating more than I am completing.

  • Remaining grounded in my truth and providing shade to those closest to me, no matter the storms that rip through my branches, or the judgments of others who wish I would fall, or shrink, or be pruned.

This is not a pivot or a rebrand.
    This is an untaming.

This is the era of rewilding

Run, and Live, For the Joy Of It All

Get to know the person behind Wild Joy Running

I'm Dani, your coach, cheerleader, and the one who believes running should be as fun as The Eras Tour. Think of me as the Elle Woods of the running world—just swap the courtroom for a trail, and the pink stilettos for a pair of pink bedazzled running shoes (yes, really).

How It all started

Once upon a time, I laced up my shoes for a half marathon, thinking I’d check it off my bucket list and move on. Spoiler alert: I didn’t move on. Running turned into my happy place, my therapy, and eventually, my calling.

Now, after seven marathons, three Dopey Challenges, and even a 50k trail race, I’m here to help YOU discover the joy of running—without obsessing over those pesky metrics. We’re all about the feels here!

My Philosophy? joyful movement + mindset magic

Running isn’t just about how fast you go or how far you get—it’s about how you feel every step of the way.

I blend science with spirit, crafting training plans that are as much about mindset as they are about miles. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been running for years, I’m here to help you smash those self-imposed limits and run wild with confidence.

What Gets Me Up in the Morning (Besides Coffee)

When I’m not running, you’ll find me teaching dance, chasing after my two little girls, or working as Program Director for Girls on the Run.

Oh, and did I mention I live in rural Northern Wisconsin? Yep, when I’m not running through the woods, I’m dreaming up ways to help my clients break free from their own mental forests.

What I Believe

If you can dream it, you can run it! My mission is to empower you to find joy in every mile—no matter your pace, no matter your journey. Running is a celebration of what your body can do, and I’m here to help you embrace that party with open arms (and lots of confetti).
