Day 1 - Summer Solstice Movement

A cornerstone of my business is that I blend movement and mindset … Science and spirit

So you better believe when the Summer Soltice, a full moon, or any other cosmic snapshot in time is present, I’m going to take advantage of it.

I believe in the power of the Universe, but I also love a theme.

When you are in need of quick reconnection, here is what you can do.

  1. Dedicate yourself to 20-minutes of movement
This can be anything you want it to be - even movement that does not elicit a single drop of sweat.
This movement should be driven by what your body is calling for.

I chose to stretch in my office after my children went to sleep.
It wasn’t intense, but it was intentional.
It wasn’t what the peloton instructor was cuing in the yoga class i selected, but it was what my body was cuing me to do.

  2. For the First 10-minutes, you will think about something you wish to release
if you are taking part in this activity at the start of your own 100 Days of Joyful Movement journey, perhaps you consider something you want to release within your relationship with movement.
If you are at a threshold in your life (entering a new season, year of life, or week of the month), perhaps you think of what you could release in order to lighten your pathway forward.

I am choosing to release expectations - of myself, of others, of performance, of outcome.

  3. For the Second 10-minutes, think about something you would like to bring into your life
What is a word, activity, feeling, or experience you would like to anchor yourself to or call into action in your daily life?

I would like to call in connection - with myself, with others, with my environment, with my relationship with movement.

  4. After you are done, Write both things down on a piece of paper (one on each side)

  5. Safely burn the piece of paper to release those intentions into the universe

Let me know how you moved your body and what you are intending to release and bring in to your life!
